I’m Hayley Nimmo the founder of EcoTalk- Outdoor Based Counselling Services. I've been working and studying in the field of Psychology since 2002.
I started my career working with young families. In this role I taught preschool, ran daycare programs, worked with at risk youth and supported families with children who have intellectual and physical disabilities.
After completing my Masters in Clinical Counselling I moved to providing therapeutic support for families. As a Registered Psychotherapist I gained experience working with the Ministry of Children and Family Development, Fraser Health's Mental Health and Substance Abuse Program, Community Mental Health, as well as Private Practice.
I have worked with a wide range of mental health needs. From personality disorders and psychosis to trauma with severe anxiety and depression. Working with such a diverse population has allowed me to become highly resourceful and intuitive in knowing how to help my clients achieve the growth they need.
Recognizing that we grow through contribution and collaboration I've done significant volunteer work in the community. I started and ran a non-profit society supporting families with children who have special needs. I was also a member of the Family Advisory Committee for Shriners Hospitals and has served as a member of the Special Needs Advisory Committee in the Fraser Valley.
I now specialize in supporting people through times of transition. I enjoy helping people sort out their chaos to find a place of peace. I believe that healing is within our capacity and that with time, patience and understanding we can grow through suffering to become stronger than we thought possible. If you are struggling, reach out to me today and we can start your journey to healing.
