Get Uncomfortable
Updated: Feb 1, 2022

Soooo many things in life are uncomfortable. Starting a new job, going back to school, doing a back bend! As humans we tend to do more of what makes us feel safe and secure. Whenever possible we choose the path of least resistance. It makes sense because it’s easier and has helped us to survive difficult times. However, in the long term this way of being can backfire. The more you do what you usually do, the more engrained your patterns become. Eventually your comfort zone becomes smaller and smaller restricting your potential for growth. The idea of changing your circumstances can feel impossible. Remember, growth happens outside of your comfort zone. To learn and grow to become the most awesomest version of yourself, you need to get uncomfortable. You need to do the things you are avoiding. I will pull from a quote that has inspired me, "all things are difficult before they become easy." Believe you have the capacity to do what you long to do, that you have the courage to try, and surround yourself with people who will support you in your bravery. Be your own black hole and absorb those opportunities that allow you to grow. So go ahead, park your car on the other side of the parking lot, try out that new gel toothpaste and believe in your potential to make the uncomfortable nice and cozy.
